What is Cannabis?
The Cannabis plant contains hundreds of chemical substances, but the most biologically active substance found in cannabis are known as cannabinoids. They are the component of the plant that influences cells of the brain and body by acting on cannabinoid receptors.

THC & CBD
The two main cannabinoids found in cannabis that are known to cause an effect on the body are delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). In addition to cannabinoids that are in cannabis, cannabinoids can also be found naturally in the body (known as endocannabinoids) or be synthesized in a laboratory (synthetic cannabinoids).
